The Fussy Baby Fuzz-Wah started its life as a simple Dunlop GCB95F Crybaby. But like all good things, it needed to be made better and more versatile, with science. So I made every conceivable mod to the original circuit, originally because I wanted it to be able to double as a formidable pedal for either guitar or bass. And then I realized I could make it a monstrosity, so I appended a simple but powerful little fuzz circuit—the Bazz Fuss!—to create one of the most rip-roaringest, misfit, fuzz-wah beast that I’ve ever had the pleasure of Geezer Butler-ing out on. And then at some point after, I realized that it might be slightly more tasteful to keep some of those mods on the inside of the pedal, still accessible to the truly discerning, but sleek and polished on the outside for the less muck-inclined.

Full disclosure—it may be more technically accurate to categorize the Fussy Baby Fuzz-Wah as a Wah-Fuzz, because the fuzz circuit is spliced in at the output of the Crybaby wah. But let’s be serious, from a marketing perspective Fuzz-Wah pops a little more, don’t you think?

So all in all, here’s what we’re looking at in terms of features:

  • True Bypass – Absolutely necessary.
  • LED Indicator — Because how many of us have fallen prey to that sneaky bastard on stage, only to realize like five songs later you’ve had the thing on the whole time?
  • Fuzz – Did I mention the fuzz?
  • Perfect for guitar and bass
  • One-of-a-kind, customized, hand-modded labor of love

  • Frequency Range Switch – Down position for bass players and Jerry Cantrell lovers, up position for stock range
  • Wah Volume – This knob gives the wah side a little boost to aide that volume drop the original Crybaby is famous for. Also feeds the Bazz Fuss pretty nicely.
  • Fuzz Volume – This knob sets the output volume of the fuzz
  • Fuzz On/Off switch – Not sure why you would need this. I guess you can use it to turn the fuzz off.

Secret Controls!

Open up the pedal and you’ve got a set of three internal trim pots, which have been marked to represent the Crybaby’s stock values. You can tweak these trimmers to customize your wah even further, with control over the following parameters:

  • Filter width (Q)
  • Input gain
  • Saturation

  • Power: 9V DC, center negative. No battery compartment.
  • Consumption: less than 5mA

Each Carcharias Effects pedal is hand-made by one person in his home workshop who loves making music, and making things that make music. Every purchase you make enables me to continue making more pedals, so your support is very much appreciated. That said, I take responsibility for the build quality of every pedal I make comes, and offer a 24-month warranty on each one, not covering normal wear-and-tear or abuse.

All the PCBs that I sell on this site were designed personally by me, but the fabrication is outsourced to third-party PCB fabrication services. Once they are designed, I order them in relatively small batches. I personally test every batch that I receive; however, as I am a strong believer in minimizing waste, there are cases in which I may sell perfectly functioning PCBs that might have some design flaw. I take responsibility for these design flaws (if any) and will specify their fixes or workarounds in the product's specific build document.

If you should encounter any issues with your product, please feel free to reach out to me via the contact form on this website. As I am based in Israel, I understand the inconvenience added by international shipping, and so I will be happy to assist in troubleshooting with you any problems before resorting to international shipping in case a repair needs to be made.
