Description

Everyone loves a good BMP layout! The Lemon Haze V2 BMP DIY PCB is one of my absolute favorite circuits, a fuzzy mammoth of tone disguised as a high-gain overdrive. This PCB fits comfortably right into a 1590B, conveniently laid out for efficient soldering and fun gutshots! The Lemon Haze PCB can also be used to build a variety of Big Muff Pi flavors—Civil War, Black Russian, Triangle, Ram’s Head, you name it! Check out the Build Doc for a table of some of the most popular BMP iterations, all of which are based on the incredibly informative archive on Kitrae’s Big Muff website. And if you are interested in trying out a different version than the ones mentioned, the part numbers on the PCB will align with almost any of the schematics you can find on the Kitrae site.

In case you are not familiar with Kitrae’s site, by the way, do yourself a huge favor and learn a little bit of stompbox history.

The Lemon Haze V2 BMP DIY PCB is the second version of the original Lemon Haze circuit, which includes several design improvements from the previous model. In this version, the plating on the through-holes is a little bit wider, which makes for slightly easier soldering. The components have been rearranged slightly to reflect the apparent modularity of the BMP circuit and accentuate its rather aesthetic symmetry.

Finally, who can say no to a black PCB?

All in all, the Lemon Haze is a fun and rewarding project, and is easy enough for almost any experience levels of pedal builders. Honestly, the BMP is an iconic tone, and if you don’t currently have one in your rotation or on your board, now is a good time to stop making excuses and build one yourself. It’s totally worth it.

Note that this is the price only for the circuit board. You will need to source your own parts.

Warranty

Each Carcharias Effects pedal is hand-made by one person in his home workshop who loves making music, and making things that make music. Every purchase you make enables me to continue making more pedals, so your support is very much appreciated. That said, I take responsibility for the build quality of every pedal I make comes, and offer a 24-month warranty on each one, not covering normal wear-and-tear or abuse.

All the PCBs that I sell on this site were designed personally by me, but the fabrication is outsourced to third-party PCB fabrication services. Once they are designed, I order them in relatively small batches. I personally test every batch that I receive; however, as I am a strong believer in minimizing waste, there are cases in which I may sell perfectly functioning PCBs that might have some design flaw. I take responsibility for these design flaws (if any) and will specify their fixes or workarounds in the product's specific build document.

If you should encounter any issues with your product, please feel free to reach out to me via the contact form on this website. As I am based in Israel, I understand the inconvenience added by international shipping, and so I will be happy to assist in troubleshooting with you any problems before resorting to international shipping in case a repair needs to be made.
